Overview of Position
Responsibilities
- Develops and cultivates organization-wide architectures and methodologies for software applications design and development across multiple platforms and organizations within the HP.
- Define conceptual and build a Customer Data platform from grounds up.
- Engages IT, business and Customer Experience management, key presenter and influencer, trusted advisor.
- Designs and establishes secure and performant data architectures, enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of data pipelines, repositories or models for structured/unstructured data.
- Analyzes design and determines coding, programming, and integration activities required based on general objectives and knowledge of overall architecture of product or solution.
- Writes and executes complete testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of data system or component; identifies and debugs and creates solutions for issues with code and integration into data system architecture.
- Leads a project team of other data engineers to develop reliable, cost effective and high-quality solutions for assigned data system, model, or component.
- Leverages recognized domain expertise, business acumen, and experience to collaboratively influence decisions of executive business leadership, outsourced development partners.
- Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members to set an example of applications design and development innovation and excellence.
Knowledge and Skills
- Enjoys as Data Engineer by developing frameworks and reusable components and willing to practically implement the same particularly in the customer experience area, Customer support and Marketing.
- Must be collaborative and must thrive in a team environment.
- Needs to have a passion to develop, willingness to learn, try new things, and staying current with technology.
Skills
- Excellent understanding of cloud infrastructure and Experience with multiple cloud technologies including AWS and Azure.
- Extensive experience using programming languages to solve big data challenges.
- In depth knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Knowledge and experience on creating conceptual, logical and physical models and Entity relationship models using industry standard notation.
- Has exposure to SQL, graph and NoSQL databases.
- Understands about metadata and data governance.
- Fluent in structured and unstructured data, its management, and modern data transformation methodologies.
- Experience in designing API.
- Knows general tools such as Visual Studio, Git & GitHub.
- Familiar with a variety of software patterns and principles.
- Understanding of big data architecture and streaming analytics.
- Has a good understanding of software engineering principles.
- Experience designing software applications running on multiple platform types.
- Experience in evaluating machine learning applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong background on TOGAF and architectural standards is optional.
- Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at management levels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English.
- Having knowledge in building machine learning applications is a plus.
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in relevant area or demonstrated competence. Typically, 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent. Typically, 6+ years' experience.
